Dr. Alexander Torres, MD
Dr. Torres completed his rheumatology fellowship in 2009 at Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine in Cleveland Ohio. He completed the Internal Medicine program in MIHS which is affiliated with the Univerisity of Arizona and Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and Florida Society of Rheumatology.
Dr. Torres is privileged to be dual Board Certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine.Dr. Torres has been in a solo rheumatology practice for the past 16 years providng multi-cultural care to residents from the surrounding counties of Highlands, Hardee, Polk, Hendry, Glades, Okeechobee, and Desoto. Dr. Torres has provided rheumatology services abroad all while running clinical research studies in the area of rheumatology, and providing a source of outpatient procedures.
Dr. Torres is also trained and certified in muskuloskeletal ultrasound studies and has been published in the area of lupus and presented cases in the area of spondyloarthropathy, rheumatoid arthritis as well as colaborated in studies involving new bio-analysis " disease activity scores" in rheumatoid arthritis.
Dr. Torres is bilingual and enjoys being with his family and spending time participating in outdoor activities.
Our practice is centered on effectiveness and efficiency provided in a caring and civil enviroment. It is the challenge of diagnosis and customizing treatment to the individual that inspired Dr. Torres to study rheumatology. The evolution of technology sustains the hope that rheumatologists can make a difference every day and provide consistent, comprehensive quality healthcare to our patients.
